I want to plan a summer barbeque for my family. Which foods are most healthy to cook for my entire family?
There are many choices for a barbecue, and some are healthier than others. If you can make your potato salad with a vinaigrette, rather than mayo, and keep the skin on, it will be healthier.  I would also cook more burgers than hot dogs, as hot dogs are a processed meat, and not as healthy for you. Also give diners a choice of healthier toppings; mustard is a healthier topping as it contains tumeric, a healthy Indian spice.

Apraxia?
by Tom Seman MD FAAP August 16th, 2012 | Pediatrician on Call
My 5 year-old still has trouble talking. She can speak many words one day, but some days those same words don't come easily for her. My friend said she might have Apraxia. How do I find out?
There are several possible reasons for the issues that your five year old is having. Hearing loss, poor tone of the mouth, tongue and face as well as a variety of developmental delays such as autism can account for such difficulties.
Furthermore, there are several sounds and sound combinations that are not fully mastered by a child until approximately 6 years old. Most of these can be diagnosed

by Kimberly Hays August 14th, 2012 | Health Observance

by Lori Sciame August 13th, 2012 | Relationships
Your duties as a parent are crystal clear when your child is an infant. You provide food, shelter, and plenty of love. As your son or daughter grows, you begin to provide intellectual stimulation, and you have plenty of fun playing together. Â Still, you remain a parental figure first and foremost.
It isn't until the late teen years that the notion of becoming best friends enters into your relationship. Although it may be tempting to begin treating your child more like a friend, resist the urge to do so for several important reasons.
First, scientific research has proven that a human's

Children and Immunizations
by Dean Heller MD August 10th, 2012 | Ask the Doctor, Health Observance
My child is now two, and I feel like my pediatrician is constantly bugging me about giving her one vaccine after the next. I am most worried about the MMR and the connection with autism. I know there is a debate in the medical community; do you think I should listen to the pediatrician and give all of the vaccines, including the MMR?
There is good scientific evidence for all of the vaccines that are recommended in the United States at this time, including the MMR. The studies which suggested a connection between the MMR vaccine and autism have been
